In November 2023, Mississippi’s sports betting handle reached a total of $62.3 million, marking a 15.2% decline from the previous month’s $73.6 million in wagers recorded in November 2022.

However, this figure represented a substantial 26.1% increase when compared to the $49.5 million wagered in Mississippi in October of the same year.

Notably, this November handle was the highest since December 2022, when a total of $74.4 million was bet in the state.

When shifting the focus to revenue, Mississippi earned $3.1 million from sports betting activities in November. This figure reflected a 33.3% decrease compared to the previous year when the state generated $5.1 million in November.

Furthermore, the revenue in November was significantly lower, registering a 53.4% decrease compared to the $7.3 million revenue achieved in October.

Breaking down the market, coastal casinos remained the preferred destination for sports betting enthusiasts in Mississippi.

These coastal casinos managed to generate $1.4 million in revenue from a total of $43.1 million in bets placed during November.

Central casinos in the state contributed $1.1 million in revenue, with a total of $12.0 million in bets processed.

Northern casinos reported a revenue of $530,929, derived from $7.2 million in wagers.

Football continued to dominate as the most popular sport for wagering in Mississippi. Coastal casinos attracted the highest football wagers, with a total of $23.2 million bet on the sport.

Central venues saw $3.0 million in football wagers, while northern casinos had $3.7 million in bets placed on football events.

In summary, Mississippi’s sports betting landscape in November 2023 exhibited a decrease in handle compared to the previous year but marked a significant improvement over October.

Revenue figures also experienced declines, with coastal casinos being the primary revenue generators.

Football remained the sport of choice for bettors across the state, highlighting its enduring popularity in the sports betting market.
