Milanov has been slapped with a staggering 17 breaches of the ITIA Tennis Anti-Corruption Programme (TACP).
His punishment is a ban that stretches from December 28, 2023, until December 27, 2039.
These severe charges revolve around five tennis matches that Milanov officiated in 2021.
Among the various violations outlined by the ITIA, five were found to relate to Section D.1.b of the 2021 TACP.
This section pertains to directly or indirectly enabling anyone to place bets on the outcome or other aspects of an event.
Additionally, five breaches were discovered under Section D.1.m of the TACP, which pertains to delaying or manipulating the entry of scoring data from any event.
A further five breaches were associated with Section D.1.n, which involves direct or indirect attempts, agreements, or conspiracies to commit corruption offenses.
The remaining two breaches concerned Section F.2.b of the 2023 TACP, which pertains to the failure to fully cooperate with investigations conducted by the ITIA.
Milanov, a national-level official, chose not to respond to these charges, effectively admitting liability for all counts and accepting the sanctions imposed.
His ban extends to all tennis events authorized or sanctioned by ITIA members, and he must also pay a hefty fine of $75,000 (£58,982/€68,523).
This is not the first time Milanov has faced disciplinary action. In 2022, he was suspended for six months due to betting offenses.
At that time, he confessed to all the breaches identified by the ITIA.
His suspension lasted from November 15, 2022, to May 14, 2023, and came with a $10,000 fine, $5,000 of which was suspended.
The ITIA has been taking decisive measures against rule-breakers, as demonstrated by the recent banning of French tennis player Leny Mitjana for corruption and match-fixing offenses.
Mitjana’s punishment is a 10-year ban from the sport, effective until December 2033. Despite his denial of all charges, he remains suspended.
This case is part of a broader crackdown on a match-fixing syndicate in Belgium, with syndicate leader Grigor Sargsyan receiving a five-year custodial sentence.
In the past three months, the ITIA has handed out bans to 21 players and officials connected to this case, signaling their commitment to maintaining the integrity of the sport.
