Rush Street Interactive (RSI) and BetRivers have officially launched their sportsbook in Delaware following a successful soft launch on December 27th.
After a fruitful initial week, the sportsbook is now fully operational, offering a wide range of betting options across professional and collegiate sports, including spreads, moneylines, player props, futures, and same-game parlays.
In addition to the sportsbook, Delaware is also seeing updates to three existing online casinos, all operated by Delaware Park, Bally’s Dover Casino, and Harrington Raceway & Casino.
RSI secured the contract to power Delaware’s iGaming offering in August, winning the bid after an RFP process that included other interested parties like 888, which eventually pulled out.
RSI’s agreement with the Delaware Lottery is set for an initial term of five years, with possible extensions at the discretion of the Lottery.
Delaware Park and Harrington Casino & Raceway are accessible through the BetRivers multi-state app and website, while Bally’s Dover Casino offers its standalone app and website.
Delaware Lottery Director Helene Keeley expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, citing RSI’s track record in neighboring states like New Jersey and Pennsylvania, as well as their commitment to responsible gaming and quality products.
RSI CEO Richard Schwartz also shared excitement for the launch, emphasizing their extensive gaming content, deposit and withdrawal methods, real-time cash-out approvals, and top-notch customer service.
The launch comes after a mixed November for Delaware, with a year-on-year increase in iGaming revenue but a decline in sports betting revenue.
In November, total iGaming revenue reached $1.1 million, a 13% increase from November 2022.
However, player spending on iGaming was $32.1 million, down 24.8% from the previous year.
Sports betting revenue for November amounted to $576,800, a significant drop of 62.3% from November 2022, with a corresponding decrease in spending to $8.1 million, down 20.6% year-on-year.
Despite these fluctuations, Delaware remains optimistic about the future of iGaming and sports betting with the fully operational sportsbook and updated online casinos, aiming to provide a safe, convenient, and innovative online entertainment experience for its customers.
