Bookmakers Slash Odds of Lewis Hamilton Winning 2024 F1 Championship

UK-based bookmakers have slashed the likelihood of Lewis Hamilton winning the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship to 11 percent, following news of him joining Ferrari in 2025.

The bookmakers had previously given the seven-time world champion a 28 percent chance of winning his record-breaking eighth F1 crown in 2024.

Meanwhile, following Hamilton’s announced team switch, George Russell’s chances of winning the 2024 title have increased from seven percent to 13 percent.

Hamilton finished P3 in the Drivers’ Championship in 2023, and he will be eager to go out with a bang in his final year at Mercedes this upcoming season.

The Briton nearly broke Michael Schumacher’s record for the most championships in 2021. However, a series of controversial decisions by then-FIA race director Michael Masi ultimately denied him glory and allowed Max Verstappen win his maiden F1 championship.

The Dutchman has since won another two Formula 1 titles, and bookmakers have given him a 59 percent chance of becoming a four-time world champion this year.
